What Happened
The Problem
Years of exposure had left the existing concrete tiles heavily weathered, with moss growth and materials nearing the end of their life. Rather than just replacing the visible tiles, a full strip-back was needed to properly inspect and upgrade everything underneath. The homeowners wanted a long-lasting fix that improved protection without losing the property's classic look.
What We Did
After putting up scaffolding, we stripped the roof back to its structure, checked the timbers, and rebuilt from there — new breathable membrane, new treated battens fitted to current regs, and rustic smooth tiles installed throughout. Finished with a new dry ridge system for better ventilation and durability.
The Result
The property now has a clean, uniform roof that fits in well with the surrounding houses, backed by a modern system underneath — better weather protection, improved ventilation, and less ongoing maintenance than the old roof needed.
